Description

Ternopil began its existence as a defensive fortress to protect Western Ukraine against Tatar raids in the Middle Ages. In 1548 Ternopil was granted the Magdeburg right. From 1939 Ternopil officially became the center of the newly formed Ternopil Region.

The Ternopil region is rich with Slavonic sites of ancient settlements, defensive Castles and Fortresses, Miracle Churches and Monasteries and magnificent gypsum caves. Picturesque nature and pleasant landscape, history, culture and people's hospitality are waiting for you.
